Tamarind Martini

I had this last night at Union St. in Detroit. Ordinarily I wouldn't associate tamarind with Thanksgiving, but something about holding that frosty martini glass, looking out the windows and seeing the floats ready for the parade...I think the Tamarind Martini is the perfect Thanksgiving tipple.  Not too complicated to make (key when you have a bunch of guests to serve), but a complex flavor profile and, most importantly, a lot of booze. Let the holiday season begin!  Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Tamarind Martini

3 oz. vodka
3/4 oz. Royal Rose Tamarind Syrup
2-3 dashes orange bitters
orange twist

In a cocktail shaker, combine ingredients over ice and shake vigorously.  Serve straight up in a chilled martini or coupe glass with an orange twist.
