Plum conserve

Over the summer I made a few batches of plum conserve. I got the recipe from the National Center for Home Food Preservation website (www.uga.edu/nchfp). Wow! This stuff is delicious. Organic, local plums, golden raisins, walnuts, oranges, and a few spices that I added to the recipe. The conserve can be paired with savory or sweet. My current favorite snack is a cracker topped with soft goat cheese and a teaspoonful of plum conserve. Here are some other ideas.

-serve with pork or beef as a condiment
-pair with a sharp cheddar cheese and crackers or apple slices
-spread on top of a bagel or toast with cream cheese
-spoon onto baked Brie
-spoon over ice cream (vanilla, chocolate, rum raisin...)
-spread onto toast with butter
-stand over the kitchen sink and eat the walnuts out of the jar with a fork...just kidding! Sort of...

Enjoy!
